You already own Aqara hardware, or want its sensors specifically. Budget for at least one IKEA bulb or Aqara plug near every Aqara end device before you blame the sensor for dropping out — the router, not the device, is almost always the actual fault. If you're chasing the most stable experience with Aqara contact and motion sensors, some users report better results running deCONZ over ZHA, though ZHA remains workable once routing is correct.

Energy monitoring matters to you. The Third Reality Smart Plug currently exposes the most complete entity set automatically under ZHA of the plugs covered here; the Aqara Smart Plug is the better pick specifically if the rest of your climate/motion sensors are also Aqara, since it doubles as a safe router for them.

You're placing a coordinator somewhere with poor RF exposure — a server rack, a metal enclosure, a basement closet — the SMLIGHT SLZB-06's networked design solves a problem no USB dongle can, at a higher price point.
